Steve Jobs – not another schmaltzy eulogy.

.

I really don’t feel comfortable with mass-grief where you show emotions that are out of proportion for the person who has passed away. You didn’t know them; had no direct interaction with them and day-to-day never thought of them but they die and you fall to pieces. It just doesn’t work for me.

However, Steve Jobs is a little different. He affected billions of people changing their lives for the better especially mine: if it’s got an “i” in front of it I probably own one. He bought style and panache to a collection of electrical components to create beauty and function but more importantly he allowed us to live our lives differently. Ever been jogging with a Walkman?

So no tributes, eulogies or feigned grief just gratitude and a determination to continue enriching my life with the legacy of Steve Jobs.

Good, balanced tribute. An awful lot of “gushing” going on out there today!
